2. The Name They Left Behind (Kulhadd halla isem warajh), Clare Azzopardi
All eight women are ordinary women, but distinctive. They fall out of any cliché. The name so directly, at first, shows that in spite of the ordinary life, they left something behind; story, gossip, voice.
Eight heroines with their own unforgettable story.

The first heroine, Sandra, leaves the keys to unknown men. Rita works in the elementary school kitchen and spends her time drinking tea with her colleagues and telling stories about Malta. Gracey showed up at the store one day, in a messy red dress, and decided to try on a black pair of shoes from the shop window. But the money Gracey pays with is is from some other forgotten time. Roza has been preparing for her funeral for the last ten years. But it is not a matter of the funeral, but of the letters that Roza began to write to her husband eleven years after his death. Ljiljana is not a woman but a house with a number 51. Margaret’s story tells of Margaret’s transformation in Michael, in a convent. A dedicated and strict life, with a question how meaningful. Camilla had a sharp mind and a heart that breaks easily. Could she have been the killer? The most Polly came close to the lover of her life was at his funeral. Polly doesn't talk to anyone except herself and sometimes with her sixty-three dolls.
They are unforgettable.
"Every new beginning has its own smells and sounds."
