House of day, house of night
The novel revolves around life in a small Silesian town, Nowa Ruda, which was part of Poland, Germany, and former Czechoslovakia due to border changes. However, history is not just history - the lives of the people who lived it are also involved. About this beautiful prose work, the protagonist of the novel reveals the secrets of her acquaintances and neighbors. At the center of the plot is a neighbor, Martha, who is involved in the lives of the people described in the novel. Some of the stories go far into the past, some into the lives of saints while others follow events from Martin’s life and the lives of their neighbors. An imaginative novel full of entertaining anecdotes will relax and make everyone laugh.
"I was never sure if there was a line between what Martha was saying and what I was hearing."
"She thought that after this trip nothing would be the way it was before."
